In the past, parents used to force their children to read slowly as well as loudly because they though that is the way to understand and learn things.  Those days are long since over.  Methodologies that are used in studying today have completely different from what was adopted in the past.  Today the teachers ask the children to read faster as well as to grasp the important points involved. In fact everything today is faster and quicker and education is no exception to this common trend.

Reasons for such changes in the environment is that learning process has now become much faster than it once was.  People all around the world are having less time today for accomplishment of any task they encounter. For instance when people try to learn English as a second language they wish to accomplish the task even without much efforts put in mainly because they lack adequate time to devote for the purpose.

Learning a second language could be one of the most arduous as well as stressful tasks you come across.  The reasons for it are that the words you learn in the books may not come handy in real life at all.  Commanding the language involves commanding the culture of the people who speak it and it is very difficult to express them adequately by words on paper. Mastering the ability of articulating in another language would be the objective of learning the second language.
